Patricia Guerrero
Flamenca!
Our dancer in focus Patricia Guerrero (Granada, 1990) won the prestigious “Premio el Desplante” at the Festival de la Unión in 2007, which proved to be the kickoff to her career.
In 2017 Andrés Marín chose her for the part of Dulcinea in D.Quixote (the opening to the Flamenco Biennial 2019). She describes it as a ‘liberating experience’ that made her into the dancer she now is. This edition of the festival also presents Distopía, her second solo performance in which she proves that she is among the most important flamenco dancers of the future.
She pays a tribute to the traditional style of Granada, adding a personal touch with her flawless technique, elegance and pellizcos. In this intensive four-day workshop, flamenco dancers of intermediate and advanced level get the chance to study one of the secrets behind her beautiful style: physical strength combined with refined, subtle movements.
