Flamenco 4 Kids: El Árbol con Alas | The Tree with Wings (5+)

Once upon a time in Spain, the land of flamenco, there was a great big oak tree, which had its roots firmly in the ground. In this interactive performance, dancer Anabel Veloso takes children from 4 to 12 years old (and their parents) to the rich world of flamenco. The different flamenco moods are explained through the seasonal changes affecting the oak tree. Summer is the joyful time of “Alegrías”, winter matches the severe “Seguiriyas”… In this playful way the kids learn about the different flamenco styles and its three facets: song, dance and guitar. They get the chance to experiment with the rhythms, the melodies and the steps. Then the young concertgoers are invited to experience for themselves what it feels like to sing or dance flamenco. Dresses, shoes, hats, fans, castanets - they can put them all on or try them out. It will be some flamenco party. ¡Olé!
