Leonor Leal & Alfredo Lagos & Antonio Moreno
Nocturno

Dancer and choreographer Leonor Leal likes to move outside flamenco. She has made a name for herself as a versatile and inquisitive flamenco dance maker who likes to push her limits. In Nocturno she goes in search of a new choreographic language and sound space with the help of two exceptional musicians: percussionist Antonio Moreno and guitarist Alfredo Lagos, regular accompanists to flamenco star Israel Galván.
In Nocturno, Leal’s body is central, as a sound box and “everything in our vicinity that reminds us of the rhythm of our own heartbeat”. Body, rhythm and guitar conspire together in a surprising sound world full of rhythm. This makes for a fascinating dance encounter in which flamenco is experienced through a contemporary language of movement and rhythm, with everyday objects enriching the sound palette.
With Nocturno, created together with María Muñoz, an important name in today’s Spanish dancing, Leonor Leal presents herself with a solo piece in the Netherlands for the first time, taking a notable step in her development.
