Opening VIII Dutch Flamenco Biennial: Rocío Molina

A wonderful opening night yesterday of the eighth edition of the Dutch Flamenco Biennial. A full house in Stadsschouwburg Utrecht watched breathlessly how Rocío Molina tamed her ‘monsters’ in an intimate interplay with guitarists Yerai Cortés and Eduardo Trassiera. Watch the retrospect below!

Al Fondo Riela is the second part of a triptych about Molina’s work with guitarists. Earlier this year we livestreamed part one in our online festival: El Aire Mueve. Now part three is around the corner, where she will be accompanied by Yerai Cortés.

“In Al Fondo Riela I am joined on stage by my own ego and two completely different guitarists. Eduardo Trassiera is harmony and technical complexity. Yerai Cortés is intuition and sincerity. Al Fondo Riela is about reflection and the loss of reality, a piece in which all my spirits emerge. I need to go through this in order to reach the third part: liberation”.
