Siete Jereles

Siete Jereles is a magical seven-night journey through the streets and quarters of Jerez de la Frontera in southern Spain (Santiago, San Miguel, San Pedro), one of the oldest breeding grounds for the flamenco. The film follows the many flamenco families (the Agujetas, Moneos, Zambos, Méndez, Sorderas, Mijítas, Periquines, and so on) who live in the city. There the characters, artists and horses construct a new image of the flamenco that is constantly reinventing itself, with new rites and geographies. Siete Jereles documents the living flamenco myths that make Jerez the city that it is. The film is like flamenco itself: nomadic and in constant motion.
