Rocío Molina
The Making of Trilogía sobre la guitarra
Flamenco Biënnale 2021 reportage
Here you can view the reportage that the Flamenco Biennial made about Al Fondo Riela, Rocío Molina’s performance. Together with her, we celebrated the opening of our live 2021 edition in an exuberant and sold-out Schouwburg Utrecht.
Rocío Molina, the ‘Madonna of contemporary flamenco’, is filmed explaining frankly how she rediscovered herself after becoming a mother in Al Fondo Riela (It Glimmers in the Depths). With incredible physical poetry and together with the leading young guitarists Eduardo Trasierra and Yerai Cortés, she presented a tribute to the guitar.
“During the making of this performance, I actually thought that the whole dance could disappear. That I myself could disappear, as a dancer, even as a person. I just wanted to listen with my body to every note of the guitar, myself become a vibration, mirroring that of the instrument.”
