Trampoline

Vanwege de nieuwe coronamaatregelen is deze voorstelling afgelast.

De Bulgaarse topslagwerker Tatiana Koleva is gefascineerd door de ritmische kracht van flamenco en is verliefd op de marimba. Speciaal voor de Flamenco Biënnale stelde zij een programma samen waarin ze deze muzikale liefdes combineert: werken voor marimba en slagwerk waarin ritmes uit verschillende culturen, dansen en natuurlijk de flamenco samenkomen. Op zondag 14 november speelt de Youth Percussion Pool vóór en na de voorstelling Flamenco Criollo (zie onderaan deze pagina bij ‘bekijk ook’) in de Entreehal van het Muziekgebouw aan’t IJ.

Youth Percussion Pool

Tatiana founded the Youth Percussion Pool in 2009: an international educative platform where future percussion professionals exchange ideas and gain stage experience. The young percussionists from Tatiana’s pool effortlessly switch between classical, contemporary, folk and pop music. For this project she invited three talented members: Diego Jaén Garcia, Kalina Vladovska and Elias Blanco.

Program

The trampoline conjures an image of joyfulness, hope and sunlight. The compositions that Tatiana selected playfully jump from one end of the world to another, in search of worldly rhythms. Trampoline is also a prelude to a larger project that Tatiana is developing in collaboration with the Dutch Flamenco Biennial for the festival edition of 2023.

At the end of the show the musicians will invited the audience to join the ensemble with some basic rhythms that will be used to create a short piece of music. No drums needed: the most important percussion instruments in flamenco are your hands (palmas) and feet.
