Rocío Molina
El Aire Mueve
El Aire Mueve
Rocío Molina likes to be contrary. Following in the footsteps of flamenco innovator Israel Galván, the dancer/choreographer from Málaga (1984) uses her body and femininity boldly and defiantly in the search for a new flamenco aesthetics, challenging the laws of tradition.
Ignoring the flamenco codes, she stretches the boundaries of the genre radically and brilliantly, with phenomenal precision and full of poetic imagination. La Molina creates new repertoire. She heralds a new era of flamenco dancing.
'Rocío Molina succeeds in breaking through the digital screens. Flamenco festival online works.' - Theaterkrant
This online dance performance took place during the Flamenco Biennial 2021 (A)Live & Streaming. In full winter lockdown, the biennial came swirling into your living rooms with unique semi-live streams of dance makers Rocío Molina, Andrés Marín, Ana Morales and Vanesa Aibar from Seville and of the jazz flamenco trios of Pablo Martín Caminero and Daniel García Diego from the famous Café Berlin in Madrid.
The Flamenco Biennial is happy to make the recordings available for free. However, a donation would be very welcome. For this please use the box on the right of this page. Thank you. ¡Gracias!
